Price
FinBodhi automatically fetches prices for supported instruments daily. You can also manually refresh prices at any time.
FinBodhi calculates an asset’s value as units × price. If the price is in a different currency from your primary currency, it also multiplies this value by the applicable exchange rate. For example, with INR as your primary currency, 10 shares of a US stock priced at USD 5 each and an exchange rate of ₹85 per USD are shown as ₹4,250. The INR value therefore reflects changes in both the USD price and the exchange rate. To enable conversion, configure both currencies in Settings → Currencies and set your primary currency. See Multi Currency for setup instructions and details on automatic and manual exchange rates.
Supported instruments
When creating or editing an account, choose the Account Type shown below, then use Select Instrument to find your instrument. FinBodhi determines the fetched price currency from the selected instrument. The price currency is not necessarily your display currency: values are converted into your primary currency as described above.

Manual prices
For instruments without automatic price fetching, such as property, vehicles, or private investments, select Others as the account type. You can enter dated prices manually to track changes in their value. The Prices tab is available only for Others accounts; it does not override automatically fetched prices for other account types.
How to add a manual price
- Create or edit the account and set Account Type to Others.
- Open the account and select the Prices tab.
- Choose Price Currency if the price is in a currency other than your primary currency. Add the currencies in Settings → Currencies first if needed; otherwise, manual prices use your primary currency.
- Click Add New, choose the Date, and enter the price per unit in Amount.
- Click Save. Add a new dated price whenever you want to update the valuation; you can also edit existing entries.
FinBodhi multiplies the manual price by the number of units you hold and converts the result into your primary currency when needed. A common use case is tracking the value of a house or other property: record the house as one unit and enter its full estimated value as the price. Whenever you get a new valuation, add another entry with its date and estimated value rather than overwriting the previous entry. This preserves the valuation history so you can track how the property’s value changes over time.
